Import Compliance Program Development and
Management

BPE develops import policies to enable you to establish your import compliance program utilizing reasonable care and leveraging CBP's informed compliance publications. Once formal polices are established based on your company profile, BPE creates operational procedures that are designed to implement your global trade policies and optimize your operations. These procedures are based on your company business model, operations, philosophies and strategies.

BPE will develop policies and procedures for:

  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule Classification (HTS).
  • Valuation.
    • Assists.
    • Terms of sale.
  • Country of origin.
  • Quantity.
  • Special classes of merchandise importations (e.g. carnets, temporary imports, U.S. Goods Returned, assembly).
  • Free and/or foreign trade agreements.
  • Anti-dumping and countervailing duties.
  • Customs entry filing accuracy.
  • Validation of Power of attorney and bonds.
  • Documentation.
  • Recordkeeping.

As a CBP Trade Ambassador, BPE will help you establish your Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Trade Account for periodic monthly statement payment of duties, customs account management and reporting.

Once your policies and procedures are completed, BPE will provide recommendations for improvements to your current operations and develop an import training program that you can utilize globally, with your internal and external customers. All policies and procedures are delivered to you online hosted by BPE or published on your intranet.
